Training – Second Doctoral School – November 2022

The Second Doctoral School of the European Training Network project SMARTGYsum is the second of six main network-wide training events that will be organized during this project. The conference will include special courses, covering technical and soft skills. Each one of this courses will provide a 1 ECTS credit certificate. It will also include social events to formalize relationships among the consortium members, improve research integration between the project beneficiaries and partners, and establish longlasting collaboration between the Early Stage Researchers.

The Second Doctoral School will be held in Badajoz, the capital of the Province of Badajoz in the autonomous community of Extremadura, Spain. It is located close to the Portuguese border, on the left bank of the river Guadiana. Badajoz is a major commercial centre in southwestern Spain and an important bridge between Spain and Portugal for trade and cultural relations. Founded in the 9th century by the muladi called Ibn Marwan, it helds the largest Arab citadel in Europe and is known for its colorful and cherrish carnival.
The courses will take place at the Industrial Engineering School in Badajoz Campus of the University of Extremadura, located on the right bank of the Guadiana river.
The hotel (AC Badajoz by Marriot) is located in between the University Campus and the city center (10 minutes on foot to both)

After the preliminary registration (up to 26 September 2022), each participant will have to formalize the inscription by paying the registration fee of 350€.

This invoice includes:

  • Meals
  • Access to the training and technical activities
*There is a reduced fee of 175€ that will cover only meals, meant for those not attending the courses.

An agreement is achieved with Hotel AC in Badajoz, with a rate of 64,50 €/night for single room and 77,70 €/night for double room, both rates include breakfast.
Hotel room rates are valid through October 6th.
The reservation of the rooms must be made by sending an email with the details of the reservation (number of rooms, type of room, date of arrival and departure) to t.gallardo@btravel.com.
