Jamil Hassan

Jamil Hassan was born in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, in 1998. He received his B.S.c degree in electrical power engineering from Comsats University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, and M.S.c degree in electronics and electrical engineering with specialization in power electronics and control from Dongguk University Seoul, South Korea. He worked as a researcher in Phoenixon control South Korea, where he had been working on three phase inverters and ESS/EV battery tester. Currently, he is an early-stage researcher for a project "Smart and Green Energy Systems and Business Models" at SEnergy Products and Services in Spain. His research interests include power conversion systems, inverters, bidirectional converters, and highly efficient power converter topologies and their control.

Luis  Martínez

Luis Martínez

Luis Martínez was born in Zacatecas, México on July 11, 1993. In 2017 he received his Bachelor in Mechatronics Engineering degree from the National Polytechnique Institute. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the National Center for Research and Technological Development in 2021. He is currently recruited by the Warsaw University of Technology and his research interests include grid-connected systems with ancillary services to improve power quality and control strategies for power electronics converters.

Anas Abdullah  Alvi

Anas Abdullah Alvi

Anas Abdullah Alvi was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh in the year 1996. He has received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degrees from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2020 and 2018 respectively. He has also received Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power Systems from University of Nottingham, UK; University of Rome "La Sapienza", Italy and University of Oviedo, Spain in 2021. Previously, he has worked as a lecturer in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at World University of Bangladesh and American International University-Bangladesh. His general research interests are power electronics, power systems and renewable energy. Currently, he is pursuing PhD at University of Extremadura where he will focus on developing a virtual power plant (VPP) to aggregate different sources of renewable energy which is able to work both isolated and connected with other VPPs.

Shuyu Ou

Shuyu Ou was born in Guangdong, China in 1995. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Automation from the South China University of Technology in 2017. He obtained his M.Sc. in Electric Power Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in 2019. He has been with the power team at Huawei Sweden Research Center from 2019 to 2022. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. with the Aalborg University in condition monitoring for smart power electronic converter systems.

Mohammadreza  Azizi

Mohammadreza Azizi

Mohammadreza Azizi was born in Malayer, Hamadan province, Iran. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Shahid Madani University of Azerbaijan, Tabriz, Iran, and his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Malayer University, Malayer, Iran. After that, he worked as a lecturer at Malayer University for several years and implemented several projects in the field of power electronics and solar energy. During these years, he also worked as a research assistant and is the author and co-author of several papers. As an early-stage researcher, He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in the Energy Router for Hybrid Microgrids at Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, Chernihiv, Ukraine. His research interests include power electronics and renewable energies.

Mykola Lukianov

Mykola Lukianov received a B.Sc. and M.Sc degree in Electronics and Communications from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in 2018 and 2020 respectively. He is currently a PhD student at the Gdansk University of Technology, Poland and a researcher group member in project SMARTGYsum “Research and Training Network for Smart and Green Energy Systems and Business Models”. His research interests include PV converters, power converters topologies, battery chargers and their control algorithms.

Mahyar Hassanifar

Mahyar Hassanifar

Mahyar Hassanifar was born in Urmia, West Azerbaijan, Iran, in 1995. He received a B.Sc. in electronics and M.Sc. in power electronics (First Hons.) from Urmia University in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He was a research and teaching assistant at Urmia University for several semesters. He has been working on multilevel inverters for the past three years, mainly focused on new topologies. He has hands-on experience with different laboratory prototypes as well as experience on working with MATLAB/Simulink environment and Code Composer Studio (for coding on DSPs). His current research interests include design, control, fault detection, and fault-tolerant of multilevel inverters and applications of power converters in FACTS and Smart Transformers. He was involved as an author or co-author of four journal and ten IEEE-indexed conference papers. At the fluent level, he speaks English, Persian, and Azeri.

Gabriele Arena

Gabriele Arena was born in Catania, Italy, on September 24, 1996. He received his M.Sc (cum laude) in Automation Engineering and Control of Complex Systems from University of Catania in 2020. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. with the Real-Time System Integration Group at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. His research interests include power electronics and DC microgrids, with a focus on isolated DC-DC converter topologies.

Waseem Haider

Waseem Haider

Waseem Haider was born in Gilgit, Pakistan, on February 16, 1997. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Comsats University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan, in 2019. He obtained his M,Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Sungkyunkwan university Suwon, South Korea in 2021. He has been working as a system engineer with the power electronics team at the LS Automotive Technology, South Korea. He is currently recruited for a Ph.D. at The Laboratory of Systems & Applications of Information & Energy Technologies-SATIE at CY Cergy Paris University (CYU), France. His research interests include power electronics, smart grids, data driven methods, real-time optimization and digitalization of energy. His Ph.D. with CYU is on the design of an Edge Computing Platform for Fault Tolerant, High Reliable and Resilient Power Electronic in Prosumers Applications.

Pietro Emiliani

Pietro Emiliani was born in Milan, Italy, on August 23, 1997. He received his M.Sc (cum laude) in electrical engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2021. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with the Power Electronics Group at Tallinn University of Technology. Saeed Akbari

Saeed Akbari received an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2018 from the Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran. Currently, he is an early-stage researcher at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and working on Develop of sustainable strategies for Net Zero Energy Buildings and User Energy Awareness using Smart Appliances. His research interests include power system optimization, electricity markets, traction grids, and smart buildings. Rafael Marentes Ortiz

Rafael Marentes Ortiz was born in Mexico, Mexico in 1994. He received his MSc in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment with specialization in Power Electronics and Control for Offshore Renewable Energy Systems from the universities of Strathclyde, the Basque Country and NTNU as part of the REM Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree. Currently he is working in France as a Research Engineer at Siemens pursuing a PhD with the University of Technology of Belfort Montbéliard. The topic of his research is in digital twins of microgrids to model the prosumers considering socio-tecno-economic factors.

S.M. Masum Ahmed

S.M. Masum Ahmed was born in Khulna, Bangladesh on December 17, 1997. He received his Erasmus Mundus Joint MSc in Smart Cities and Communities (SMACCs) from the Heriot-Watt University in 2021. Moreover, he received his second MSc in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Mons. He had completed his B.Sc. Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with an honor "Magna Cum Laude" from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in 2018. Currently, he is an early-stage researcher at Bocconi University, working on the development of market solutions and business models for distributed and sustainable EES. His research interests include Energy Economics, Smart Cities, Control Strategies, and Smart grid.
